Roughing it...RV style

On Saturday, Colin and I drove an hour south to Bradenton Beach where my Mom was RVing for the weekend. She wanted us to check out her new ride...

Yes, my petite mom drives this all by herself!

Her spot was right on a canal that leads to the intercoastal, perfect for pulling up the boat!

After we got the tour of the beautiful RV and RV resort, we went for lunch on the beach followed by a nice walk....

Can't beat Florida in November with this weather...Colin also enjoyed his view!

Happy Boy...

I don't think I'll ever tire of seeing this smile or doing everything in my power to get the big belly laughs out of Colin. It's not hard as his demeanor is just generally happy. He really thrives in nearly every situation I seem to put him in.  It's hard to really tell at 10 months old, but I think Colin will be quite the social butterfly as he grows. He easily goes to other people ( even people he is meeting for the first time) and lights up around friends and family that he is familiar with. He's now really captured the heart of our housekeeper/caretaker/angel Pauline who is here three times a week. I know she looks forward to seeing him every morning she comes and he equally lights up with a big smile when he sees her. He is also an attention lover..I can tell he is especially in his element when he's with my mom and me at the same time....two women fawning over him really keeps him happy!

I often wonder how much his happiness and laid back personality is from nature vs. nurture. I will keep nurturing as long as he lets me!

The Walker

Colin has gotten quite good at navigating around in his walker. I typically use this in the kitchen area and plop him in here when I'm getting dinner ready. He'll usually entertain himself for about 15-20 minutes "walking" and sometimes"running" around the kitchen exploring.  Another must have in the baby gear department.

What's for Dinner?!

"Yummy... plastic wrap for the tortillas!"

"What? No good?"

Next thing sighted..the mustard bottle to chew on.

Colin gets into EVERYTHING he isn't supposed to. I would probably say" No" 1000 times a day but instead I pick my battles and let him chew on some things..like stuff in the fridge. Whatever, I think it's BPA free :)

Weekend Recap...on Thursday

Colin came down with croup this week and has been extra needy, which I admit I kinda like, I love the snuggles minus the crying.
So on a Thursday, here is a recap of our trip to Palm Beach Gardens to visit my friend Anna and her newly expanded family.

Colin and I arrived Friday morning. I decided to fly instead of the 3 1/2  hour car ride. Colin did great on the plane as usual, luckily it was only a 45 minute flight. This was my first time flying solo with Colin but I managed well. I checked my bag and carried him in the baby bjorn. This left my hands free for check in and security. Our flight was delayed about 10 minutes, but luckily our gate was right next to the kids play area so I let Colin crawl around there while we waited.

We were greeted by Anna, her daughter Hayley and new baby, Clark.

Even though I just had a newborn not too long ago, I had already forgotten how tiny these guys are!

Some highlights of the weekend were Hayley having a little buddy to play with and resort back to her baby days..she enjoyed crawling on the floor with him and trying his baby food.

Saturday there was a Gator game, so we got everyone dressed up in their Gator gear!

Sunday we went to the green market where there was a Halloween celebration going on and Colin got to ride in the big boy umbrella stroller and show off one of his cute Halloween onesies.

Hayley was also excited to get her face painted.

She is beyond cute and so sweet, makes me want a daughter next!

And we ended the weekend with catching up with Uncle Andrew. We had a nice late lunch in downtown Delray followed by some Kilwin's ice cream..my fave!
