Can finally share the news...

We are expecting baby # 2!!!

I am 14 1/2 weeks pregnant and have been feeling great, pretty much the exact way I felt with Colin. My main symptoms of my first trimester, which is now behind me, were just tiredness/low energy/moodiness in the evenings and frequent bathroom trips in the middle of the night. The tiredness has started to dwindle but the bathroom trips are still there!
We are very excited to add to our family and for Colin to have a little baby brother or sister. Now that we know what to expect, I'll admit I'm a little nervous/ scared to have a newborn again but luckily that stage is just that- a stage! I'm hoping the second time around will mean I have less anxiety and can just enjoy the chaos...because God knows those moments of having a little baby asleep on your chest are the sweetest and go by way too fast! I can't wait to meet this little one and see his/her personality! It's hard to imagine any child of mine not being Colin but of course they will have their own identity and I know we will love him or her so much!

Colin's first baseball game

These last several days, we have been blessed with incredible weather ranging from mid 70's to lower 80's. Obviously for August this is unusual so we have been trying to take advantage as much as possible. Little Rock has a double A baseball team, the Arkansas Travelers, who play in an outside stadium in downtown Little Rock. So with our great weather, Saturday night was a perfect time to go to a ball game, a first for Colin. Our seats were in the left field, not too bad but I think it was still a little tough for Colin to see what was going on. We'd been playing a lot of Tball in the backyard lately, so he did get the basic concept of the bat and hitting the ball. True to 2 year old form, he was more interested in playing with the seats that went up and down. Colin probably spent about 1 1/2 innings in our seats before we took him to the kid zone area. This was heaven for Colin as there were about 5 different bounce houses that he had a blast playing on. We probably left in the 4th inning, which was just enough for Evan and I, who are not baseball fans. Despite our lack of enthusiasm for the sport, the weather, the fun atmosphere of the stadium, seeing Colin having fun and of course the good stadium food made for a really fun family night. Well definitely do it again!

Post swim lunch

I don't know how we will fill our days when these pools close for the season!
