Just standing around...

Colin's standing capabilities continue to improve! He can stand for quite a while on his own. He has started over the last couple of weeks to show a preference to walking, but with my assistance. He loves to walk around holding my hand, but if I left go he goes back down to his knees. Often times he's barely holding my hand so I know he has the strength to walk, I think it may just be a matter of when he's ready to do it on his own.
He has taken his first steps...I've had him standing and had him walk into my arms, he's only done this a few times. We'll see when he's running around...I probably will be wishing for my crawling baby instead of a running tot!

I was trying to capture his serious case of bedhead, this looks like a serious case of the Mondays.

Play time before bed

Colin is usually in the most playful mood right before bed. Last night I dropped the hint that Evan could postpone his internet surfing and get on the floor and play....this is the fun part of parenting, being a kid again.....they both had fun!

Colin's First Boat Ride

On Sunday, we took Colin out for his boat ride. We met Evan after he'd been fishing and drove around for about 35 minutes. At first, Colin wasn't too happy with his life jacket, but he was soon distracted by everything to see. We saw some dolphins right away and plenty of pelicans. He was a bit unsure to the new experience but seemed to enjoy it all.

Gasparilla Children's Parade

Every January, the residents of Tampa turn into pirates for the annual Jose Gasparilla parade. Bayshore Boulevard is invaded by a floatilla of pirates who then parade down the street.
I've been going to the parade as long as I can remember...first when I was a kid eagerly jumping up with my hands wide open for the coveted beads.... and then later in life as a teenager and young adult with my friends.
Not long ago, the parade was getting a little bit too wild for children, so they seperated the festivities into two weekends, the Children's parade was this past Saturday and this weekend is the adult version Gasparilla parade.
This was the first ( of many I hope) Gasparilla for Colin. Evan had the day off and we enjoyed meeting several of our friends and their kids for a day of "Aaarggs"!

Enjoying Daddy Time....again

This post accidently was deleted, so here are the photos again of some family time we are enjoying now that Evan has had an easier schedule this month.

New toys

We're getting good use out of some of Colin's Christmas presents.

If you look close enough at these pictures, you'll see a nice little bump Colin got the other day, when he smacked his head on the edge of our bedside table.
We try to do a wagon ride each evening, bonus tonight Daddy was home to join us!

Thanks Uncle Andrew for my Power Wheels! and Uncle Kurt for putting it together.
Woo hoo I figured out how to push the button and GOOO!

Every time he gets on this I can't help but sing " pow pow power wheels, power wheels!"

Colin's 1st Birthday!

Colin's 1st birthday has come and gone. After much planning, his New Year's Day birthday party was a success! We had beautiful weather, great food and lots of friends and family that came out to wish the big boy all their best! Colin behaved perfectly and seemed to enjoy all the attention. Since he's not walking yet and we didn't want him crawling around in the grass, it was a game of pass the baby, something he loves!
The party was capped off by a fireworks show over the lake given by Daddy and Uncle Kurt. It merited many ohs and ahs from all in attendance especially Colin! This has been the greatest year of our lives and I can't wait to see what this year holds for him. I love you sweet boy.
